New Build - V.0.05 - Barbers and Random Barrows

http://www.fileconvoy.com/dfl.php?id=gaec797417bffe59c9992663481f9a051d2e1c05b5

Okay, been having computer issues so I haven't got as much done as I'd like, but here's a build with some fun new things!

* All shops should now have a unique background, but most don't show prices yet

* There's some random mini dungeons you can find on the roads around Cordania! They're not hugely exciting yet, but they're a start.

* You can meet a random Barber around those same roads, and get haircuts!

Haven't got the farms in yet, but they're underway! Next build will hopefully have those and some Tundra stuff, and be up soon. I'll try to have at least the a backgorund for the Magic School to show off too.

  1. I can't get the game to load in the newest release. Something about an invalid memory?

  2. Cant seem to find a single barber, but the random dungeons are kinda nice. Also when I encounter one eyed Susie it asks me if I want to run or fight, failing to run leads to fighting. When I fight her i get to choose attack and seduce or something like that, attack throws me back to the main menu and seduce leads to a critical error.

  3. heh, i haven't seen a dungeon but i've seen the barber three times.

i lost to one-eyed suzie. i won my next fight (snailgirls), and at the end of it was told i was handcuffing suzie securely. checking inventory, suzie was there, captured. i also didn't get a wad of snail slime that time.

  4. ah.. remembering some bugs from yesterday when i closed the dratted browser before posting.

the board behind shopkeeper in cordenia only lists two lines of things for sale. lust bombs is omitted.

the number of times you study in the library doesn't count towards your mind score. the number of times you go to study does. that is, you can waste all your money studying in one go and only get 7 points for it, but if you leave and re-enter the library between every study session you get 7 points each time. it's annoying, and a big ol' gotcha for new players.

it would be nice if you could click anywhere to close the inventory and appearance windows.

not sure if mentiohed: having played it for a while the text screens become mere transitions. how odd, then, that you can only save on transition screens. :)

    1. Yeah, I noticed the same things.

There's a few screens which would be improved by having buttons on the same screen as the text, too

  5. I've noticed a few things about the latest release (mostly good stuff!)

The barber SEEMS to have an error of sorts. If I tell the barber *really go crazy on the haircut!* it doesn't show on the status screen that I had a really bad haircut, it's still around the middle of the back. Outside of that, they are funny

A way around the saucy bandit (One eyed Susie or someone who looks like her) is to have a lust bomb handy, that gets her lust to just about max and you can *have a little fun*. If you try without it, you get a game breaking error.

I like the treasure hunts, while not exactly huge, the encounters make sense and the treasures are funny. There was a error on one of the treasures, when you fall asleep for a looooooooooooong period of time. (32 days??) Unfortunately, I don't have the traceback on that, it got wiped out by the game-breaking error.

I don't know how difficult it would be, but I think having the various encounters should have different *attacks* like in MMM.I mean, the excited centaur appears to be not wearing anything, so having her *show her breasts at you* doesn't make sense (maybe have them displayed more prominently though?) The non-humanoid encounters have a few different ways of exciting you. The giants cause more excitement from showing off their breasts because they are huge... Also, not sure it's intended, but I don't look at the snail-ladies and think *chimera*...

My biggest complaint is One-eyed susie, but she can be dealt with via lust bomb. I'm curious what the *thief skill* is for, as there doesn't seem to be any need for it (yet) and how to increase speed.

Keep this up, I love the new content! (And kind of wish Farmer Milburn's daughters visit you on occasion at the inn after he kicks out you!) Will you have *roughing it* in all the towns? Right now that's only offered in Cordania.
