New Build - V0.0.31

 All you awesome players have found a shed load of mistakes and bugs I've made, and I'm still working through them, but I think I managed to squish most of the really bad game breaking ones for this release. I have not fixed anything in th combat, because I'm planning on ripping out all of the combat code and re-doing it from scratch this weekend. It's just way too messy as it is.

 Talking of messy, the may enemies are picked/implemented was stupidly longwinded and impossible to manage, so I'm in the throes of changing all that. It'll be much easier for me to work with once that'd done.

 Also, I've decided to go with the "as much time as you like" option in respects to the time limit. This means changing all the time increase instances form minuses to plusses, and currently the day counter goes down, and we now want it to go up. I am basically going to be reversing the flow of time. I feel pretty mighty, I don't think even Doctor Who has done that. Superman has, but that guy's done about everything. This might all take a while, which is why I'm putting this build out now. Hopefully I'll have the new one out soon though.

 The major new FUN STUFF in this build - new enemies in the swamp and the caves between Tallis and Knip, and a card game in Kaldeslav - socialise in the bar to get it, the odds of it happening are 3/8 I think. I'm working through the enemy list and adding new ones at the moment,  might shove out a release with all the new enemies in before I fire into changing the time-flow and the combat, in case I break everything and it takes ages to get it working again.

IMPORTANT - do NOT use old saves, start a new game, or you might get errors. Sorry.


EDIT - quick jump form build 0.03 to 0.031 to solve a problem with the card game.

  1. I do not know if this is a bug or not, but am curious on something...

    I got the cuffs and license, found Susie and defeated her, and sent her to jail. After doing so, the wanted posters still showed Susie at large. Just wondering if this is *bug* or did she break out?

  2. That's a bug, yep, I'll fix it. Of course, that's not to say that I won't program breakouts in later. ;D

  3. Yay new version! It's nice to see more of the encounters. Got a couple more bugs for you though, and a couple of sorta-suggestions.

    in tench, I got pretty good at prostiting. I left, came back much later, and prostituted again. this time i failed to satisfy the first customer and accidentally rung the bell straight after that. (it's an easy mistake, it's the only screen where the 'leave' button is on top.) i was never allowed to prostitute there again, despite my earlier good record. that's ridiculous, lol.

    now i'm stuck in moppet. i have 0 money and 0 endurance, and the work option disappeared for no reason i could determine way back when i was socialising a lot. there's no way to sleep rough, no possibility of leaving town, i can't afford a bed and i can't get money. oh... i can't socialise any more either.

    as in MMM, the save, load, etc links disappear on button screens. after a while i start to feel like i can only save on transition screens.

    the info screens could be closable by clicking anywhere instead of having those relatively small close buttons.
